About

The Friends of Alberta Debate and Speech Association (known as FADS for short) is a charitable organization created to encourage community support for debate and speech throughout Alberta.

Its purpose is to engage with all members of the Albertan community who support debate and speech, whether or not they are directly involved. Through a growing membership base, FADS provides a link for past participants, coaches, and judges to stay involved with current debate and speech activities.

FADS’ aim is to promote involvement in the debate and speech community through newsletters and other targeted communications to its members.

Whether the member is a past debater looking to be an assistant coach to new competitors, or a parent of a past speech participant who is willing to help run a tournament, FADS will help coordinate and build these relationships.

Additionally, FADS will organize and communicate ways to contribute to the debate and speech community financially, through local fundraisers and corporate-related giving.

Debate and speech have influenced the lives of many students, parents, and teachers in Alberta. To continue to expand this influence and grow the community of debate and speech, the Friends of Alberta Debate and Speech Association is hoping to have you as a member.

Please contact us or fill out a membership form. The personal information we collect from you will be used solely for FADS purposes and will not be sold or provided to any third party without your consent.
